Medieval Feast 2020
15 February, 2020, Seating promptly at 6:30
St James Parish, Lothian MD
Tickets $30
The year is 1350 and the Black Death has come to Scotland. For the last year the Scots believed it was God’s curse on the English but it now moves north into the southern cities. The nobility have fled to the country believing they can escape. They gather this winter night for an evening of revelry, story-telling, music, but can they truly escape the plague? Will it come knocking at their castle gates? Who is protected, and who among us is endangered?
Enjoy a little history with a side dish of humor. Shake off the snow and wintry doldrums and wear your favorite Medieval finery (plain clothing allowed, too, if you must). Be prepared to enjoy numerous dishes prepared using traditional ingredients of the period. Just as at a great feast hall where each person supplied their own kit, we suggest that you bring your finest period dining utensils, plates, soup bowl, mugs, goblets and napkins, candles (column styles stand easily on the table – if you bring tapers, bring candleholders, as well.) Place settings can be provided, if necessary. Adult beverages allowed but not provided. Expect adult humor, no children please.
Entertainment will include musicians, perhaps a story, and always a good time. Traditional Dancing after dinner. For additional information please email [email protected]. Advance tickets only, purchase tickets online at http://cssm.ticketleap.com. Tickets are $30, additional online fees apply.
