ABOUT ABOUT

The Celtic Society of Southern Maryland invites you to join us for our annual Celtic heritage dinner, featuring the history, culture, and cuisine of the Isle of Man - Manninagh Ard-eailley, on Saturday, 11 Nov 2017 at Union Jack’s British Pub in Annapolis, MD.

One of the Seven Celtic Nations, the Isle of Man is a sea-bound kingdom located in the middle of the northern Irish Sea, almost equidistant from England, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Its unique flag is easily recognizable by the triskelion, composed of three armored legs with golden spurs, upon a red background.

The Manx culture, comprised of a fiercely proud people, offers many legends, rich history, and fairy tales, reaching back for thousands of years. One such legend has it that the Isle of Man’s name comes from the Celtic sea god Manannan Mac Lir who protected the Island from invaders by shrouding it in a cloak of mist!

We will begin this Manx heritage dinner celebration with a relaxed social gathering starting at 6pm. All patrons will enjoy entertainment focused on the Isle of Man and many offerings from the Manx-inspired buffet.

Tickets are $30 per person (gratuity not included). Your ticket includes a varietal buffet dinner, nonalcoholic drinks, and, of course, entertainment. Buffet menu includes: Mixed Green Salad, Jack's Iron Skillet Cottage Pie, Mahi Mahi with lemon beulle blanc, Roasted Potatoes, Chef's Seasoned Vegetable Medley, and Bread Pudding.

Other options for entrees and drink varieties will be available for purchase starting at 7pm, as well.
